I guess many of you know that Bill Gates is a Harvard dropout. But I guess not many of you know that he is retiring from being Microsoft boss (and handing over his throne to Steve Ballmer, a guy somehow that I don't like, and whom I have a feeling that will bring Microsoft down.). Recently, Harvard awarded him a honorary degree and the speech he gave for his comencement has some interesting lines: Ie been waiting more than 30 years to say this: ad, I always told you I come back and get my degree.? I want to thank Harvard for this timely honor. Il be changing my job next year ?and it will be nice to finally have a college degree on my resume. I applaud the graduates today for taking a much more direct route to your degrees. For my part, I just happy that the Crimson has called me arvard most successful dropout.?I guess that makes me valedictorian of my own special class ?I did the best of everyone who failed. But I also want to be recognized as the guy who got Steve Ballmer to drop out of business school. I a bad influence. That why I was invited to speak at your graduation. If I had spoken at your orientation, fewer of you might be here today. http://www.news.harvard.edu/gazette/2007/06.14/99-gates.html |
